ABOUT US
Founded in 1974 by Dr. Constante Tan, Peninsula Nephrology Associates has become a leader in providing exceptional care to kidney patients in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After completing his fellowship at NYU, Dr. Tan joined Deer’s Head Hospital Center in Salisbury, which was the only dialysis center in the region at the time. This forced Chronic Kidney Disease patients to travel to Baltimore for dialysis. Two years later Dr. Benito Chan joined Dr. Tan, and together, they pioneered dialysis treatments on the Eastern Shore.
The practice continued to grow with the addition of Dr. Kazi Khan in 1998, after completing his fellowship at NYU, Dr. Muhammad Hanif, Dr. Himani Pulivarthi, Dr. Ali Arif, and Carrie Sterling, CRNP. Today, Peninsula Nephrology Associates operates offices in Salisbury and Berlin, Maryland.
Each physician at Peninsula Nephrology Associates is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and brings extensive experience to the practice. The practice offers a comprehensive range of services aimed at improving kidney function and mitigating the impact of kidney disease. Conditions treated include Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), hypertension, kidney stones, and electrolyte abnormalities. Recently, PNA introduced the Chronic Care Management (CCM) program, which provides patients with multiple chronic illnesses more timely and proactive support from their healthcare providers between office visits.
